Travel has always called to me. I like new places and revisiting places I am very familiar with. I am not one who travels for just a weekend or a week. I like to go and live, experience everything, full grasp all aspects of being in a place. For some reason Europe is calling me now. I want nothing more than to sit in a little café eating Schnitzel and dining ein beer. Watch my children playing in a restaurant garden on a warm mountain summer day. Why don’t restaurants in America have gardens for kids to play in?

Europe has been calling to me so much I painted this.

I keep wondering when I will end up in a place like this. The Jungfrau (German: “maiden/virgin”) is one of the main summits in the Bernese Alps, situated between the cantons of Valais and Bern in Switzerland. Together with the Eiger and Mönch, the Jungfrau forms a massive wall overlooking the Bernese Oberland and is considered one of the most emblematic sights of the Swiss Alps.

The Alps sits high on my very short list of magical places. When you stand at the top of one of the amazing peaks in the Alps you find yourself at peace. The world feels quiet and content. I can’t wait for the day when I get to stand in all my Magical places with my girls. My Magical places: Confluence of the Colorado and Green, Mount Rainer, Makena Beach, and The Austrian Alps. All places I feel at peace.
